Northern Wake Leads Group Logistics, Rules,   Helpful Hints

Do You Like Rush Hour Traffic? You are welcome to show up a bit early and avoid the rush hour traffic. Arriving early also affords you some extra time for networking and promoting your business.

Visitors Gift Bags: Consider placing something of value in the visitor gift bags, no business cards, flyers, or coupons, please. Showing up early affords you an opportunity to place your flyers, event announcements, coupons, etc. in every chair and at every place.

Door Prizes: Donating a door prize gives you an extra opportunity to advertise your business. Door prizes need to be items of value; again , no business cards, flyers or coupons.

Optional One Dollar ($1) Drawing: Place your business card and one dollar ($1) in the optional drawing. One card will be selected and that person will receive that week's kitty. One of that week's new visitors will then receive all the business cards resulting from the drawing.

Express Check In: Show up with cash— a five ($5), a one ($1), and a business card. We will then sign you in and place you in the optional dollar drawing. Please do not arrive with your coin piggybank or expect to get change for a $50 or $100 bill. We do not have a bank account nor accept checks. The money collected is used for paying for the meeting room, coffee, Leads brochures, and bags given to first-time visitors. At only $5 per week, the Northern Wake Leads Group is a great networking value!

Cell Phone Etiquette: Please understand that receiving calls during the meeting is a disruption to everyone. Please turn off all pagers, cell phones, etc, or place on silence / vibrate mode, and return calls following the meeting. If you are on emergency support, sit next to a door and quietly excuse yourself.

Tax Receipts: We do not give receipts - dues are only $5 per week. Our accountant tells us to make a $5 note in your day planner! Please do not call us and ask how many times you attended Leads group.

Business Card Books: After you start paying dues, i.e. your second time onward, you are eligible to place your business cards in ONE of the business card notebooks. You are allowed one column front and back. If you're absent for six (6) weeks, your cards will be removed. Kellie Stobie manages and updates the business card books monthly.

Northern Wake Leads Group Website Member Businesses: You need to attend at least five (5) out of eight (8) weeks to be eligible to get on the NWLG Website Member List. Website listing will be removed if attendance drops below 50%. Some businesses don't want to be listed; therefore we do not automatically list your business. NWLG is in search of someone from our group to manage and update the web site and email distribution.

Northern Wake Leads Group Leadership is a Volunteer Effort: Unlike many networking groups, no one is receiving compensation from this organization or events; it is a 100% volunteer effort from the group's leaders. Highly paid professionals sometimes make mistakes; volunteers might also err. Let us know your ideas for improvement or corrections and they will be considered.

The Golden Rule - What Goes Around Comes Around: It should go without saying but support your fellow Leads members by using and referring others to their products and services. Please get to know everyone in attendance. It is not expected that you will need the services of every member, but getting to know others helps others in getting to know you!! Think, what can I do for you, instead of what's in it for me! Thank You!
